Speaker Bios:

  • Najib Manea, Ph.D., is the Director of Telecommunications-Grants (CCC TechConnect) at Palomar College, San Marcos California. Najib received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Yarmouk University/Jordan 1996, a Master of Arts in Extension Education 2001, a Master of Science in Computer Science 2002, and a Ph.D. in Learning Technologies/Computer Science from New Mexico State University, Las Cruces 2007. Najib has been working as an Instructional Technology Director and Educator for more than 15 years. His recent research interests include computer literacy, Learning Management Systems, Video Streaming, Learning Objects, Technology Integration & Adoption in education, Classroom Capture Technology, and Learning Spaces.
  • Candace Robertson is the Operations Manager for CCC TechConnect, where she manages and coordinates the design, development, marketing, implementation and maintenance of technology products and services provided to the faculty and staff of the system. Previously she served as Project Manager for the Professional Learning Network, currently known as the Vision Resource Center.
  • Heather Schmidt is the Manager of Client Services and Support for CCC TechConnect. With an extensive background in media and technology services, she worked in broadcast television and media production and delivery before coming to Palomar College, where she has been involved with the TechConnect project for the past 15 years.

Session Info:

CCC TechConnect creates, supports, and leverages technology to enhance student success and advance community colleges. Its services are available 24/7 and free to all faculty, staff and students of the California Community Colleges. These projects are funded by grants from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.
