TechConnect (TechConnect Cloud/3C Media Solutions, TechConnect Zoom/CCC Confer, and the Online Teaching Conference) is funded by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, Digital Infrastructure and Innovation Division, under the SIP Grant. TechConnect provides a coordinated platform of technology products, services, trainings, and support to the 58,000 faculty, staff, and administrators in the advancement of educational success to the over 2.1 million students throughout the California community colleges’ decentralized infrastructure and is based at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA.
The Online Teaching Conference is a premier gathering of faculty, staff, and administrators who are leading the way in developing innovative and effective online education. As an inter-segmental conference focused on curriculum, pedagogy and technology to improve online instruction, learning, and student success, the Online Teaching Conference is an opportunity for educators to network with colleagues, connect, share knowledge, impart and receive best practices, and develop professionally.

Effects of COVID-19 on OTC’21
The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office and TechConnect are dedicated to continuing the efforts to limit the spread and impact of COVID-19. To support this, and at the timely directives of our state and local authorities, the 2020 Online Teaching Conference was moved to a virtual event in April, 2020. Thanks to our sponsors, presenters, and especially our attendees the conference was a huge success. We are pleased to have had over 11,000 individuals register and more than twice that many attend sessions.
Now more than ever, it is important to provide our faculty, staff and administrators the tools needed for online instruction, learning and student success. TechConnect is committed to bringing the online teaching community together and presenting the same quality content it has provided for the last 20 years. We will are currently working on creating a balanced program that not only continues to enhance the needs of seasoned online teaching professionals but also those who are new to online instruction given the current circumstances.
Even as we enter 2021, all of us are aware of the continuing restrictions on large gatherings. None of us know what this pandemic will look like in a month from now, much less in June of 2021. Due to this uncertainty, TechConnect has opted to take the conservative approach and present OTC’21 as a virtual event only. TechConnect takes seriously and appreciates the resources you commit to attend our conference and in return will use the coming months to plan an informative, robust, and interactive online OTC’21. We thank you for your support and patience, TechConnect will continue with the commitment to health and safety first.
