You’ve seen the ConferZoom button on the left navigation menu in your Canvas course, right? Ever wonder how other instructors are using this tool beyond office hours?

Coastline Community College & College of the Desert Professors team up to discover best practices that will help you to Zoom beyond office hours!

Learn how we used the Zoom video conference tool in canvas for orientation, lecture, work groups and more: a two-semester study.

We will share the research we gathered (in our Math and Science courses) that assessed our student’s attitudes around the video meeting tool. We will present the feedback we received from students, both concurrently and post-course. You will leave with concrete ideas and best practices for how you can use the Zoom video Conference Tool in Canvas, to Zoom beyond office hours.

Session Outcomes:
• Identify two, or more, ways in which you can use Zoom to bridge the gap with your online students, so they will never feel they are teaching themselves.
• List at least two ways in which the Zoom tool can be used to support student success & meet regular and effective contact hour requirements.
• Identify two, or more, ways in which you can integrate the zoom tool into your virtual classroom instruction.
