California’s investment in community college distance education is reshaping online education. We will present data on the current state of distance education courses, detail the makeup of the students taking these courses, and share student completion rates. We will also show how new initiatives will contribute to developing guided pathways for students and help California community colleges reach their strategic vision goals.

Session Outcomes:
• Get a bird’s eye view of distance education in the California community colleges.
• See completion rates of distance education students by a different of demographics.
• Learn how new initiatives fit into distance education (or vice versa).
