Presentation / Lecture

Do you want to know what an expert says about how students learn in your online class? This presentation will cover research-based principles that can guide what you should be doing in your online class according to the book How Learning Works by Ambrose/Bridget/DiPietro/Lovett/Norman. If you’re new to online teaching, this will help you get off to a great start. If you’re a seasoned online teacher, see if you are already following all the principles! Of course this will also have application to the on-campus classroom, too. This will provide value for both online and on-campus classes.

Session Outcomes:
• Learn research-based principles about effective learning.
• Apply learning principles to an online course or an on-campus course.
• Assess your own course to see how it can facilitate better learning.
