What are the risks and benefits for providing a Service Learning option for your online course. It can be done so set yourself and your students up for success and connection! This session will provide you with the definition, options, and guidelines for implementing a service learning option. I will share with you my own stories of how I implemented Service Learning into my online course and some of the student learning outcomes. Let’s brainstorm and create an online Service Learning Support Network! Together we will see that when the community service is part of the academic course work, and when the service relates directly to the course content, it is considered service learning.

Session Outcomes:
• Subject matter specialists contribute to possible service learning outcomes.
• Whole group connection through Google, Canvas, and Twitter.
• Identify Service Learning communities in local college areas.
